London did so well with Ms. Terri. She had fun looking at her pictures on the camera and loved all the beads and ducks she got to play with! Ms. Terri was so sweet to let London keep some beads to take home!

Jack Daniel's World Championship BBQ ... Mmmmmmmm...
Posted in on 6:25 PM by Amanda
What a great weekend!! We've been wanting to go to the Jack Daniels Distillery and thought the World Championship BBQ Invitational weekend was the best time to go! It's about an hour and a half drive so by the time we got there we were hungry for some yummy BBQ. The weather we a little brisk, but it was a really beautiful day. London loved BBQ! After wandering around the downtown Lynchburg area for a little while, we went to the JD Distillery to see about a tour. Of course it was really crowded since the BBQ event brings in about 100k people the weekend of the event. We decided not to do the tour since we had the stroller with us and there's about 100 steps up the hill on the tour. Ian and Stewart are squires.... and frankly I don't know what that means, but it got us into a private party at the distillery where we could hang out for a little bit and listen to some live music. It was really nice to get away from all the crowds for a little bit... and the guys got some cool free gifts too! London was super sleepy and took a nap while we hang out! What a great perk!!
When we got home, London was so glad to play for a little bit before going to bed. We all had a great time and London was a super traveler!!
A cold walk for Komen and fun with the Grandparents!

London and I went to Cookeville Friday night to have dinner with Mimi and Papa and my Dad and Barbara and then do the 5k Komen walk on Saturday. London didn't eat well or nap on Friday, so she was a bit cranky Friday night, but nothing a good night sleep couldn't fix. So Saturday we all got up, bundled up and went to the Komen walk. It was great to get out and support such an awesome cause. After the walk, we went back to Dad's and hung out for a while before London and I came back home.
... and London was fast asleep before we even got on the interstate to come home!
It was a nice weekend!

London Singing in the car
Posted in on 12:57 PM by Amanda
After I picked up London from school yesterday, London was very chatty in the backseat. Keith Urban came on the radio and she started singing (well sort of) along. It took me almost the whole song to finally get her recorded on my phone. She's only slightly a better singer than me. :-) Nonetheless, I can't stop listening to it. It's just too cute. One of her favorite phrases right now is "do-di-do-di-do", which she ends the clip with. Just too cute for words!

Stafford Drive Octoberfest

We are so blessed to live in such an awesome neighborhood. The street we live on is a short street with only about 20 houses on it. It's off from the main street in the neighborhood, so we felt like this would be a great place for us when we picked our lot 3 years ago. Most of the people on our street know each other by name. This weekend a couple of the neighbors arranged for a street party get together for all of us. We had games, food, drinks! It was so cool! Just about all the neighbors came. I just feel like in this day and age, there can't be many neighborhoods that are like this. So for that, we feel very grateful. Here are a few really awesome pictures that one of our neighbors took.
12 Month Report
Posted in on 6:33 PM by AmandaThank you everyone that came to celebrate London's birthday with us! She was a bit overwhelmed with all the people and the singing. She apparently isn't all that into cake. After about 30 mins on 2 occasions of trying to get her to eat the cake, we just gave up. She didn't appear to care anything for it. I think she takes afer Daddy and just prefers ice cream! She also likes mini-marshmellows! In fact, she loves them!
What's new with London...
Crawling: Everywhere, all the time, and at warp speed. Seriously, she has a high gear she can crawl in!
Walking: I'm not complaining, but she can totally walk, she just doesn't want to. Again, so ok with that. She walks great with just slight assistance, but as soon as you let go she drops to the floor and crawls. She has learned to walk the perimeter of the bonus room holding on to the coffee table, then couch, then chair, then wall. It really seems like she's going to just take off any moment. Until then, it's just so fun to watch.
Teeth: So at her 10 month report, I guessed she would have 5 teeth by her birthday. I was wrong! She has 10 teeth! Her 4 top and bottom and a molar on each side! She went from no teeth at all until 9 1/2 months to 10 teeth at 12 months! Amazing!
Talking: In addition to uh-oh, we've added "oh no!" to her vocabulary. It's too cute! She also says "pretty" in a whisper when she's playing with my earrings or a necklace I have on. She's my girly girl! I'm pretty sure she says "duck" and "dog". She picks up random objects and puts them up to her ear saying "hello" - which actually is more like "hey-do". She also says "do-di-do-di-do-di" over and over. I don't really know what that means, but it's really cute!
Gestures: She points to herself with her thumb when you ask he where is London or where's the baby? Ian taught her to flex her muscles and grunt, except she doesn't really flex she just grunts. Very funny! She likes to wear her frozen teething ring as a bracelet rather than chew on it. LOL She is a dancing fool! Anytime music comes on, she dances!
Favorite game right now: She loves to turn around in her stroller for a high five when I'm taking her on a walk. She loves playing chase around the living room. It's so funny to see a sense of humor in a 12 month old, but sometimes when I feed her food from a spoon, she bites the spoon before I can get it out of her mouth, but she gets so tickled at herself she ends up laughing and drooling her food out of her mouth at the same time. She knows she's being silly and then just like that she gets right back to business eating her food!
Favorite toy right now: She LOVES mom and dad's iPhones SO much so that we can't even have them within sight of her because she will want to play with them. She's figured out how to press the button and then slide her finger to unlock the phone too. As for real toys, she got some cool new Fisher Price barn toys and a Weebles play center thing for her birthday and she really likes both of those. She also likes to push her activity table all around the room walking behind it. She likes her bucket with shapes and plays with that a lot. She also loves tons of other things she's not supposed to play with, like shoes, DVDs, the dog's outside chain, keys, etc.
Clothes: At her check up this month she was in the 75% of height at 30" and finally made it up to the 50% percentile for weight at 20.12 lbs. She's wearing 12 month clothes, but I've bought mostly 18 month clothes for her for the Fall/Winter, so that's actually what she's wearing. The 18 mo. pants are still pretty long, but that's ok. She's in size 3 or size 4 shoes.
